Red. White. Blue.

I love to create displays in my booth that have a theme and the upcoming 4th of July holiday is the perfect reason to craft a patriotic, red-white-blue vignette. I pulled together several things from recent yard and estate sales that fit the theme, but I needed at least one large object to anchor the display. Since the summer holiday is often celebrated with picnics, I thought a picnic basket would be perfect; however, the only one I had was in desperate need of a make-over.

BEFORE the make-over…….

See what I mean about needing a make-over!

Sticking with my theme, I painted the lid with red, white and blue chevron stripes, distressed it a bit and sealed the paint with some paste wax….

AFTER the make-over…….

White spots are the sun peeking through the trees.

Doesn't she look better?

Here are a few pictures of the completed display….

That's a red Uncle Sam bank on the right!

Long Live the Red, White & Blue!

  1. What a cute display! I love the make over on the picnic basket, just so darn cute! The 4th will be here before we know it!

  2. I love it! Your red, white, and blue vignette is so festive and I have no doubt you'll sell every piece. Love the red cash register bank.

  3. I like to add 4th of July colors to my booths too! Nice makeover on the picnic basket!

  4. You WIN! best display ever I bet.
