But I get a sense of déjà vu when I see tangerine!
Haven’t we seen that color before?
Like maybe 40 years ago?
Remember this set of vintage canisters that I refurbished a few months ago. I would date them somewhere around 1972. Doesn’t that color look very familiar? It looks like tangerine to me!
Well that got me thinking….and looking through my stash of vintage items….looking for other items in tangerine……and look at all I found….

I have never in my life had anything tangerine or orange in my house until this year I bought a tangerine polo shirt LOL
ReplyDeletetrue, what goes around
comes around
Yes. I was there, in the late 60's when orange, yellow and olive green were the IT colors. Nice to see orange back, albeit with an new name.
ReplyDeleteI've noticed that it's popping up all over. I remember the canister set you spruced up. I do like the color here and there, but would never be able to wear it...I'd look dead! Thanks for the fun Sherry.
ReplyDeletelove those chalkboard stickers!

That plate is lovely. The colors are so pretty:)

I still have my orange and earth tone quilt my grandma made me in the 70's! I'm loving that vintage tablecloth. I have a weakness for those!

What great tangerine goodies! My mom loved yellow and orange, thanks so much for the sweet memories.
ReplyDeleteHappy VTT!
How did you know? I'm wearing tangerine...or coral right now! I love this color and I think it looks good on blondes...I hope it does!
ReplyDeleteYou were in the latest styles and did not realize it. I think that is a pretty color.
ReplyDeleteOh yes! deja-vu for sure. I lived that color in the early 70's and some of your pictured items do look quite familiar! Very fun post Sherry! :)

I love orange so I'm loving all this stuff. I actually have 3 of those little tupperware dishes. We found them at a yard sale last summer. Funny about the Lefton pitcher - I'd never heard of that before, then another blogger posted about it today. She collects it. What a coincidence.
ReplyDeleteI love that tablecloth. You did a fantastic job on those canisters too, I would love to have something like that in my kitchen
ReplyDeleteI never liked tangerine but then I bought a tangerine purse and now I can't get enough of the colour and seem to notice it everywhere.
ReplyDeleteLove the tangerine that you found in your stash! Its an interesting color and I even have a few items myself! Love that limoges plate! hugs, Linda
ReplyDeleteYes, and I love it. It is such a happy color.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean. I thought to myself "Does everything repeat in life?" I remember this color was hot in the 60's and it's all over everything now. I just got a Tangerine colored purse for my Birthday. I'm stylin' now!~Ames
ReplyDeleteYou have some fabulous tangerine beauties there! I always find it interesting how what goes around comes around again. I am wondering if that means avocado green will be coming back into style?
ReplyDeleteThat pitcher is to die for!
ReplyDeleteYes, that color is familiar to me to! Love that Limoges plate and the vintage tablecloth! Visiting you from the blog hop at From My Front Porch To Yours.
ReplyDeleteYou have an eye for tangerine...ahead of your time, I guess. I do love those canisters!
ReplyDeleteTangerine,
ReplyDeleteShe is all they claim
With her eyes of night and lips as bright as flame
My folks had that song on a record they played all the time! It's the perfect description - I keep reading that 'orange' is the hip color of the season but that sounds so... orangey.
Tangerine feels like a nod to the mid century to me -- updated Avacado Green, coming up next! The glimpse into your stash makes me think it must be filled with lots of amazing things. :-)
ReplyDeleteGreat oranges! My favorite is that tablecloth! Thanks for joining TTF and have a wonderful day Sherry!
ReplyDeleteHi Sherry,
ReplyDeleteI got married during the FIRST TANGERINE/AVOCADO GREEN(and lets not forget HARVEST GOLD) era! My kitchen was HARVEST GOLD! and I had LOTS of the orange and green too. Let's face it, "It went SO WELL with wood paneling". GEE I hope that NEVER comes back. I DO LOVE real wood though, and I KNOW you do to!
I'm so happy you like your coffee pot. AND YES, I guess it's back in style!
Thank you for the shout out!
Big Hugs,
Donna
