With so many yard sales advertised in so many different directions, Mom and I had to make some gasoline-thrifty decisions to narrow down our treasure-hunting to those sales that sounded promising. We were very successful, though; so much so that today I’m only going to show you a few of the smalls that we found.
I found a vintage red General Electric kitchen clock along with a couple of Frostie bottles and a sauce server/warmer.
A couple of Made in Japan planters found their way home with us. The duck on the left is Occupied Japan and the elf-on-a-stump was made by Acme Pottery.
Finally, we found a milk pitcher adorned with geese, a blue Fire-King measuring cup and a set of Shawnee Flower & Fern salt and pepper shakers.
Did you go "treasure-hunting" this weekend?

I have never seen the salt and pepper shakers! Great find! A clock is always a favorite! Fun!
ReplyDeleteI agree, there were lots and lots of sales this week. SO MANY had FANTASTIC FINDS too... I LOVE the treasures you found. Those little salt and peppers are darling! I also have a hard time passing up little planters and vases... They really should be "LOVED"!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing all you new goodies...
Have a fun filled week,
Big Hugs,
Donna
My favorite is definitely that clock! I love red and this one is in such great shape! It's been doing nothing but rain here but I did hit a few thrift stores and scored some great linens!
ReplyDeleteGreat finds! No treasure hunting for me...seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. I have two projects down and four more to go!
ReplyDeleteThat little server would work just right for some hard sauce to pour over bread pudding! No treasure hunting for me, we got 5" of rain in two days!

LOL!!! Are there ever too many garage sales!! Yes, I made it to a couple estate sales and showed my 5.00 bag of goodies from one sale.
ReplyDeleteNOW, I must get my stuff ready for my garage sale that is next week!
I love the red clock! Maybe I should add a touch of red into my kitchen.
Warmly,
deb
Too many garage sales? Is it possible? I know what you mean though, sometimes it's so hard to choose because we don't know what we could be missing. My favorite: It's a toss up between the red clock and the measuring cup.
ReplyDeleteOh yes i went to some yard sales and found some great ironstone I have it on my last blog post . I am just bragging because I have never found 3 great things in one day or even one week LOL
ReplyDeleteglad you found some cute things also
The elf planter is so similar to one I have that was my Grandmother's. All my sisters thought it was so ugly, but that I would be the one to love it. And they were so right. I love my elf planter.
ReplyDeleteLove that creamer/server. Nothing since last Friday. I don't seem to do yard sales, around here it is always clothes?
ReplyDeleteGreat finds -- you and your mom make an excellent team!
ReplyDeleteI, too, love the creamer/server!

It's my favorite time of year ... when there are more sales than time to get to them all -- yay!!!! I didn't get out due to an injured foot but I'm happy to see you had some scores. :-)
ReplyDeleteLove the duck! we do not have garage sales, thrift shops, op shops in my part of the world so this is vicarious pleasure trawling through everyone's else's thrift shop finds.
ReplyDeleteI thought maybe you had made a typo in your blog title. Too many yard sales? Is there such a thing? It is a good problem to have though isn't it! Love that clock!
ReplyDeleteHello! I found your blog some days ago and I'm enjoying it a lot! I like everything you show. Little Donald with those vintage books...Yogi... enamelware with little ducks...
ReplyDeleteI collect vintage children's dishes, egg cups (yes! I've seen yours!) and vintage stuff in general.
