Seeing Red!

I have a confession to make. I didn’t tell you about everything that we bought at the estate sales last weekend. There was one more big purchase that I want to tell you about.

At the second estate sale, I entered a small bedroom of the house and what I saw stopped me in my tracks…...I SAW RED!  Three pieces of gorgeous red vintage American Tourister luggage. I checked them over and they were in great shape….just no key.  *sad face*  I wanted to shop some more, so I took them to the check-out table and asked that they hold them for me. They said, “Sure, but are you going to get the matching hatbox?” I hadn’t seen a hatbox, so they took me back to the room and found the beautiful matching round hatbox in the closet. OF COURSE, I wanted the hatbox!!!

So after a little cleaning, I’m revealing the last of my weekend purchases. A FOUR-piece set of red American Tourister Tiara luggage, probably from the late 1960s-early 1970s.

They are available in my booth, just in time for your vacation!!!

I’ll be linking to the following parties:

Rednesday at It’s a Very Cherry World!
Vintage Thingie Thursday at The Coloradolady
Treasure Hunt Thursday at Blue Creek Home
Thrifty Things Friday at The Thrifty Groove

  1. Oh what memories these pieces bring back to me! My graduation from high school present was a piece of RED Samsonite luggage. I wish I still had that red makeup case.

  10. You scored BIG! Those beauties would have stopped me in my tracks also. They were sure helpful. Wouldn't it be awful if you had seen someone else walking around with the hatbox?

  13. Of course you wanted the Hat Box! Love that Red!! Always my favorite color! Isn't it a shame that now you have to travel with lightweight stuff that doesn't last to stay under a weight limit. These older cases are just too heavy.

  14. Oh Sherry, those are perfect!! I just sold a round one, it went really fast. I am dieing to know if you priced them individually or together. I think I would price them individually as I have such a small booth I can't keep merchandise around for long. But, who knows, a whole set could sell really fast too as it is so rare
