More Fireworks Than Finds

There weren’t many yard sales this weekend. I think everyone must be enjoying holiday celebrations and waiting until next weekend to hold their sales. I did attend one church rummage sale and discovered some finds that are worthy of a few firecrackers or, at least, some sparklers.

I love enamelware and was excited to find an old blue spatterware colander. There was also a pair of sterling candleholders (they’ll sparkle with a little polish) and a dishcloth with a red apple motif.

Someone spent many hours completing this large piece of needlepoint. I also found a vintage rubber stamp carousel and several old plates by John Edwards of England in the Viola pattern.

So what about you?
Was it Fireworks or Finds?

I’ll be taking my finds to the following parties:

Flea Market Finds at Her Library Adventures
Today’s Thrifty Treasures at Southern Hospitality
Treasure Hunt Finds at Joyful Treasure Hunting
Magpie Monday at Me and My Shadow
Nifty Thrifty Tuesdays at Coastal Charm

  1. Looks like you did pretty good for not much being out there. Silver candlesticks? Wow! I didn't even bother to get out. Slept in. But I've been dragging home the leftovers from a friend's mother's estate. Kinda up to my ears in that stuff, but nothing beats going to the sales and hand picking the things you want.

  2. Happy 4th July! x

Wow at your needlepoint, that's amazing.

Love the cute apple dishcloth and I think I'd have bought the stamp holder...just because!

  3. No yard sales and no thrifting. I did see fireworks! I do think church rummage sales are sometimes the best for bargains. Happy 4th of July!

  4. You have a knack for finding great treasures! Not much in the way of fireworks around here with a burn ban and banned fireworkds displays.

  5. Please, please tell me what you end up doing with the stamp holder! I have one I love but haven't done a thing with it. Am saving my thrifting $ for vacation here.

  6. Church rummage sales are drying up here in Toronto, seems nobody wants to volunteer. STERLING candlesticks....WOW.

  7. Lucky you! I'm on the hunt for a vintage stamp holder..
Hubby is writing up an offer on a house for a client right now..just staying home and reading blogs:)
    Deb :)

  8. I didn't make it to any garage sales this weekend, though I did find some great loot at the GoodWill! I love your rubber stamp holder, that is so neat!

  9. Happy 4th of July~! Great finds. Here in Canada our holiday was on Friday. No finds today but yours are lovely ;-)

  10. Love those dishes ou found! Have enjoyed looking through your blog at all of your finds. I am going to have to take a road trip to your store-I live in Forest, not too far away. I am now following.

  11. Love your blue colander most of all. Great to see you amongst the magpies

  12. A few treasures are better than no treasures, I collect old colandars, so I think you did very well. Have a great day. Blessings.

  13. You found some pretty good things despite the lack of sales. I love the candlesticks and the needlework. Yes, someone must've worked very hard on that.

No great sales here. I'm going into withdrawls.... haha

    Have a great week!

  14. Lacking in time for yard "sailing", I enjoyed more fireworks!! You, however, found many great treasures!! Blessings!!

  15. I'd say you had a fire works day alright! I love the old stamp holder and adore any linen. Your all purpose sign is great! I didn't do any thrifting at all

  16. Wonderful finds for you! We enjoyed the fireworks! Company's gone..boohoo...but I hope to get a chance to do some thrifting later this week! ♥

  17. For no sales you did quite well!
I love that needle point. It a good thing I didn't grow up back then, I couldn't sit still long enough to finish something like that.
