Shabby Chandy

A couple of weeks ago I showed you some treasures that I found while visiting a newly opened Flea Market. I told you that I also found a couple of projects that I would be sharing with you. Well, one of those projects was a “diamond in the rough” that needed some serious polishing.

This chandelier had already been altered with paint, but the paint job was not my idea of pretty. The lines of the chandy were very nice, but that pink/blue/lavender/polka dot/fauxjeaux had to go! So for $5.00, she came home with me for a makeover.

All she really needed was primer, a couple of coats of white paint and a little distressing. I kept the blue shades since they were in good shape and now she looks fresh and fine….perfect for a shabby chic cottage.

She’s hanging in the booth and ready for a new home.

Would she catch your eye?

  3. Oooooh! Be still my heart! I have chandelier envy:)! I've been looking for a chandi that I can transform (we have a hideously ugly circa 1970's one at our new house!), and yours is perfect! I agree, those polka dots just had to go! What a lucky find, and lucky you!!!

  4. Paint to the rescue! It looks perfectly chic, now. I'd buy it :)

Hope you have a good weekend for finds! I found a ginormous vintage frame for $1 today. It even had the chippy white paint...bonus.

    Take care, Sherry! :D

  17. Great redo on the chanty! How very smart of you!

Thanks for the sweet comment. As for our Mom, she actually has two large rooms (living and bedroom), plus a small kitchenette - no range (she doesn't want to cook).
