There weren’t any estate sales this weekend and only a few yard sales, but that was OK. With so many things still to price from last weekend I don’t need tonnage, but I’m always looking for treasures and you never know when or where you’ll find them.
Thankfully, quality won out over quantity and I got a smile on my face when I found these outstanding vintage suitcases. The large one is leather and the smaller one is an American Tourister. I also discovered a great Hoosier tilted canister. I can tell it’s an old one from the wear on the bottom!
I got even happier when I uncovered some old photographs, a sweet ceramic box, a ruffled-edge dish and a stash of silverplated flatware which included that very pretty sugar shell in the first picture.
Happiness also came by mail this weekend and I celebrated by using my new “Happy Day” sign.
You see, I recently won a giveaway from Linda over at A La Carte and it arrived Friday.
Thank you, Linda!!!
I love everything and I’m going to enjoy reading those little books to my precious grand-daughters.
If you don’t know Linda, go visit her right now!!!
She’s the greatest!!!

You did way better than I did and I went to several estate sales! Neither quality nor quantity has shown up in my area yet.

ReplyDeleteThose are some great finds, Sherry! I really love the suitcases, and the canister is perfect! Lucky you on the win. I sure hope that you don't live near any of the flooding that I've been seeing on tv. I thought of you when I was watching the news last night!!

ReplyDeleteI just love old suitecases. Something about the possibilities of where they've been. London? France? Detroit? I'd say you had a great weekend even without the estate sales.

Tonnage... I like that. Quality is always better than quantity. Awesome find on the suitcases. I like the way they look stacked in a hall or used as a night stand. Love the silver plated flatware, also. You did good :) I didn't find much, either, but I did get an old antique twin bed with casters for $15. Not a bad weekend.
ReplyDeleteTake care!
~Michelle

Again...great stuff! Hey, I collect vintage HOLSUM BREAD items (my Daddy worked for that bread co. for 37 yrs)...so if you run across anything in your junkin' escapades, let me know. They made thimbles, sewing kits, children books and games and of course signs, etc. Thanx, Tiffany...heading to La tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous silverware. I am most envious.
